Serving the community and its parks, while being innovative.
Location: Springfield, MO
The dual-use facility commissioned by the Springfield-Greene County Parks Board provides offices and a maintenance facility for park staff, while offering a rooftop cafe and restrooms to park and downtown patrons. The 7,300 square foot pre-case concrete building is built into a bluff as to conceal the maintenance garage.
Innovations that led to the LEED certification include:
- a “butterfly” roof which allows rainwater to be collected and harvested
- use of local materials
- extensive daylighting
- pervious paving methods
This project is LEED silver certified.
