Snyder Construction Group Celebrates 45 Years Serving the Ozarks & Beyond

In early 1978, Larry Snyder founded a construction company after decades of learning the industry through hard work and dedication. Commercial construction is in Larry’s DNA.

Larry grew up in construction by working with his family in the business. Passing on the lessons he learned through experience, working side by side with his father, and understanding every phase of a construction project from start to finish led to his starting his own company 45 years ago.

He also discovered one essential element to completing a project.

Partnerships.

Without partnerships, Snyder Construction Group wouldn’t be the company it is today.

Where We’ve Been… And Where We’re Going

1978

Larry Snyder & Company was founded in Joplin on Feb. 1, 1978. Joplin had about three-fourths of the population it does today, with around 39,250 people. Yet Larry knew that area would continue to grow, and it was the perfect place to headquarter his commercial construction company.

1989

Our second office opened in Branson, Missouri. Our connection to Branson continues to the present day, as we worked on Hollister Middle School & Training Center as well as the new Hollister Police Department & Public Works offices. Our team also completed Thrive Dispensary in Branson West.

2002
Dusty Emmert joined our team more than 20 years ago. He’s now our company president, bringing decades of experience to our company and is attributed to the growth we’ve had over the last two decades. If there’s one word to describe Dusty, it’s passion. He brings a passion for construction to the job every day.

2003

Our Branson office relocated to Ozark, Missouri, our current location and headquarters, 20 years ago. We wanted a greater presence near Springfield, even as we expanded our projects into Oklahoma, Kansas, and beyond.

2019

Snyder Construction Group ranked number two on the Springfield Business Journal’s 2019 list of Southwest Missouri's largest commercial general contractors based on 2018 billings totaling $65 million.

2020

We rebranded as Snyder Construction Group from Larry Snyder & Company. President Dusty Emmert stated, "Over the past forty years, we've built a strong reputation for quality and consistent, reliable work. The Snyder brand will carry on the philosophy that as a construction partner, we believe that a knowledgeable, healthy, and engaged team will deliver a superior end product for our clients who put their trust in us.”

Our company created a new logo, tagline, and website.

Also in 2020, Springfield Business Journal named Snyder Construction Group the number one commercial construction contractor in the area with $65 million in billings and $94 million in backlog from data in 2019.

2021

For a second consecutive year, Snyder Construction Group was named the largest commercial general contractor based on data from 2020. We topped $69.2 million in local billings.

2023 and Beyond

Today, Snyder Construction Group continues a legacy of knowledge, relationships, and expertise, using modern technology and old-fashioned relationships to grow connections and capabilities.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our clients and trade partners. We are grateful for every partnership we’ve made over the past four and a half decades.
