Employee Engagement at Snyder Construction Group Sets Us Apart

The culture of a company is important to its success. Having an outstanding culture leads to better partnerships at all levels.

As such, Snyder Construction Group’s employee engagement and community involvement initiatives are an integral part of what we do.

Some of Snyder Construction Group’s Community Engagement Initiatives

It’s a privilege for us to be a part of the communities in which we work. Buildings are not just physical constructs. They are the people inside. Building a strong community is what Snyder Construction Group is all about.

Young Architects Forum (YAF)

In April 2022, we hosted the Young Architects Forum Springfield group at Moon City Lofts for a construction tour with the design firm, BUF Studio. It was great to meet so many young professionals and discuss with them the building details, challenges, and successes of this development.

Network of Young Professionals

We’ve also hosted YAF events at BigShots Golf, like back in October 2021, showcasing that project under construction. We also hosted a gathering with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce for the Network of Young Professionals at BigShots Golf. The group helps each other bond and develop connections in a relaxed atmosphere.

Community Leadership Visit

Snyder Construction Group sponsored the 2021 Community Leadership Visit in September 2021, put on by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Unlike years the CLV travels to other cities to learn about their successes, we took a deep dive right here in Springfield to explore how we've grown, what our identity is, and what we want for the future.

Our VP of Strategic Development and Marketing, Brandi Bailey, joined about 85 other professionals for this three-day event. The culmination of the event was this multi-page report on Springfield and where our city is headed.

Willard High School Career Day

In November 2021, our VP of Strategic Development and Marketing, Brandi Bailey, spoke to Willard High School students about careers in the construction field. We were happy to share about our field and hope to someday have some of those students in our workforce! Supporting workforce development in our region is important.

Hole-in-One Challenge Sponsor

On a sunny day in October 2021, we sponsored the hole-in-one challenge for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce at Buffalo Ridge Springs Golf Course. The prize? $10,000. Runner-up was cornhole, but the prize wasn’t nearly as glamorous.

OTC Equipment and Hay Donations

Dusty Emmert, president of Snyder Construction, dropped off a brand new CAT Skid Steer with mulcher at the OTC Richwood Valley Campus in February 2021. Larry Snyder and Dusty donated the use of equipment and manpower to clear several acres of a heavily wooded area for pasture. Larry Snyder also donated several bales of hay to the OTC Agriculture program so their cows could eat.

MSU Roundtable

Snyder Construction Group joined other local contractors at the Missouri State University Construction Roundtable Event, led by the Student Committee of the Construction Management Advisory Board at Missouri State.

It was an event to allow current freshmen and sophomores within the Construction Management program to ask industry professionals about their careers and how they should pursue school, career, and life.

Investing in the next generation is so important and we are glad to have been a part of it.

Lost & Found Grief Center Run and Remember More Than a 5K

Snyder Construction was proud to partner with other community sponsors for the Run and Remember More Than a 5K in 2022. Lost & Found Grief Center improves the lives of our community by providing help, hope, and healing through professional grief support services.

Some of Snyder Construction Group’s Employee Engagement Events

Our team also appreciates the hard work and dedication of our employees and trade partners. Without them, none of the projects we build together would come to fruition.

Construction Safety Week Appreciation Lunch

Our leaders sponsor the Red Wing Boot truck on site to give out new work boots to our staff as well as providing lunch during Construction Safety Week. It’s one way we say thank you to our amazing staff.

Regular Townhall Meetings

Every two months, Snyder Construction Group hosts townhall meetings with our team to eat lunch, discuss our current projects and pursuits, and attend a program for professional development or training. It’s a great way to build relationships and talk a little shop at the same time.

Project Manager and Superintendent Monthy Meetings

Once a month at our offices, we host meetings with all of our project managers and site superintendents to make sure our projects are running smoothly. Monthly check-ins offer an open forum for two-way communication, implementation of processes, and training opportunities.

Hot Days, Cold Drinks

When the weather outside gets too hot, our team springs into action by bringing cold drinks to local job sites. We are grateful for our committed field superintendents and all the great trade partners that make these buildings happen.

Occasional Food Trucks for Site Workers

When the weather is nice out, sometimes we surprise on-site workers by sending a food truck their way for lunch. We recently took advantage of some really beautiful weather by having Tinga Tacos at our Keystone Family Homes job site to thank our trade partners for all their hard work. We’ve also had different trucks at many local jobsites, and they’re always a big hit.
